Demi Point Dance Studio was established in 1980 in the Republic of South Africa under the name “Lecia Hale Dance Academy”. After relocating to the UK, we've rebranded and relaunched our dance studio at St Johns Youth Hall in St. Johns and Brookwood Memorial Hall in Brookwood.

Demi Point Dance Studio offers Ballet and Modern Jazz classes for all ages. We offer adult Ballet classes and private personal tuition for those looking to improve their skills in either dance forms. Demi Point Dance Studio is an intimate, family orientated studio that nurtures each student in their passion for dance.

Students learn posture, discipline and coordination in a team environment. We encourage all students to achieve their personal goals by building confidence and maximising their potential.

Principle Dance Director - Lecia Hale

Lecia’s passion for dance is evident when you speak to her. She loves teaching and training students and relishes being part of their development.

With 40 years of experience, Lecia has had the pleasure of teaching many students with a number of second generation students returning to continue the family connection with the studio. Lecia has taught a number of students who have gone on to open successful studios of their own too. Being a registered member of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance, London; Lecia is qualified to teach in both Cecchetti Ballet and Imperial Modern and enters eligible students for examinations annually

Outside of the studio, Lecia has led community outreach programmes and performed professionally on stage and television, built a vibrant Christian worship troupe that performed at various churches throughout South Africa as well as performing at numerous corporate events.

Choreographer

• Lecia has directed and choreographed numerous full studio productions over the years showcasing her studios talents.
• Is a past winner of the National Creative Youth Arts Festival, South Africa.
• Worked with renowned local South African choreographers in the education sector. Contemporary subjects were showcased at the National Playhouse in Durban, South Afric.
• Partnered with established Dance Company "Siwele Sonke Dance Theatre" in the production of "City Scapes" a performance art piece reflecting and aiding social cohesion through dance.

Performer

• Danced professionally with Wally Green in "Cricket" that was screened on national television.
• Danced in the Christmas production of "Scrooge" for TBN Television.
• Danced with the "Durban Dance Foundation" under the direction of Faith De Villiers
